Creating & Managing Breakouts in the Meeting Room

Each meeting room can support multiple, automated break out rooms with timers and auto-assignment functionality.

Step by Step

  • Click the gear icon over the user list in the left toolbar
  • Click Create Breakout Rooms in the menu
  • Select the number of room, duration, and if you'd like candidates to choose their own room
  • Randomly assign users to room with the link --OR--
  • Click and drag users to rooms manually

Step by Step

  • Click the Breakout Rooms option in the toolbar on the left
  • All rooms will be displayed followed by a count of candidates in each room
  • Click the links to join the room or join just the audio (listen-in mode)
  • The remaining duration and a button to end all rooms early appears at the bottom

Once breakout rooms have started, instructors will be shown an additional menu in the left toolbar.

REMEMBER!

  • Manually assigning a large class to break out rooms can take a little time. If you have another instructor in the room, they can start setting those up before the breakouts begin and launch them when appropriate.
  • Breakout rooms are NOT recorded as part of the meeting
  • Breakout rooms will show the slide being displayed in the meeting room when the breakouts start --it's helpful to have instructions for the breakout sessions on the screen when they start.
